The most shocking thing about this video

Is that I realized I employ to the best of my ability the philosophy espoused in these quotes. Not to perfection. No, not by a long shot. But in my intentions this is how I choose to live. And that made me feel profoundly grateful. In this moment. Now. I am happy.

That I am sick is merely incidental. Illness does not stop the wondrous nature of being alive. And the endless capacity for us to choose every day to be in this life as it presents to us.

  1. Wonderful video Gianna. This one resonated for me recently .

I believe you are already doing it.

  2. There were a few old favourites in there, but I took away a few new ones that really spoke to me because they articulate what I already take as true.

You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore. — Christopher Columbus

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all. — Oscar Wilde

I’ve never been especially afraid of losing sight of the shore, but having gone too far out before without guide or compass, I’m now trying to fully regain my capacity to live… so I can, uh, cross the ocean.

    1. Thanks Duane and Stephany for stopping by and sharing.

      Froscha,
I especially liked those too and hadn’t heard of them either!! The whole thing just made me feel kinda serene and close to tears at the same time.

  3. What is courage?

I think, for someone in pain…who is struggling for health…these words are courageous –

“Illness does not stop the wondrous nature of being alive. And the endless capacity for us to choose every day to be in this life as it presents to us.”

    Thank you!

    Duane
