Vulnerability and intimacy

We cultivate compassion by letting ourselves be touched by the suffering within and around us.

I shared another great talk about vulnerability on Beyond Meds: We numb our vulnerability — with Brené Brown.

I spent a lot of time with Tara Brach’s work several years ago.  Below is the work that brought me to her. I still carry the teachings from Radical Acceptance with me. She is perhaps the first teacher who brought the idea of acceptance to my consciousness.

I found both the below book and guided meditations greatly inspiring. These are excellent introductory materials that can apply to anyone regardless of whether one is drawn to Buddhism. Tara Brach is also a psychologist and draws from her practice when sharing her thoughts in the book.
