I’m happy to say that last night when the fireworks went off that was the first time my poor addled post-traumatic stress brain did NOT go into instantaneous crippling despair accompanied by the intense desire to die right NOW.
So, yes, that is what a PTS brain can look like and yes, this is also what HEALING from that shit looks like. After many years of watching, yes, observing my brain and body do that ugly stuff (every 4th of July and New Years) it was a wonderful thing to see that this year, instead, all that registered was minor annoyance. Hallelujah and amen!! and Happy New Year, of course. Healing happens.

God of beginnings
In ancient Roman religion and myth, Janus is the god of beginnings and transitions, hence also of gates, doors, passages, endings and time. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. The Romans named the month of January in his honor.
Thanks to all my many readers all over the world for your ongoing support and for your commitment to becoming who you are meant to be in a world that makes it very difficult for us to do that. We all need each other to do that. That we might heal not just ourselves but our families, communities and our planet.
Happy New Year and much love to you all.
It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn.
