Trauma patterning and raving loonies

“I’d much rather be with a raving loony who was directly confronting their bullshit than someone who spends all their energy repressing it. The cloaking thing always strikes a tinny note that would register as jarring and discordant to anyone able to “hear” it.”

Jed McKenna

Omg yes, and I often am in the company of lovely honest “loonies” since I know all about being a “raving loony” as well. At this point we need one another to transform this crap because society and worse yet, those who claim they can help us (psychiatry and the mental illness establishment) generally harm us more and retraumatize us. We are learning to do this for ourselves!!  See: When professionals retraumatize

Some of us know what is up even while we act in ways that most people simply do not understand and are often afraid of. The lovely “loonies” are the folks I advocate for now. Society needs us as we often see into the BS of society in general by virtue of the fact that we confront our own as a member of society.

Words like “psychosis” are the clinical language of the oppressor. The word gives the impression that those who use it actually know what they are talking about. The fact is they generally do not. We, who have experienced that which gets called psychosis and have gotten clear on what it actually is are the only ones who can truly speak to it. Let us come together and help one another out. I’m not suggesting loonies is a better term…but it’s certainly not worse!

and on another note:

Remember, if you keep having similar experiences with different people — that you are the common denominator. When we own this sort of thing we can break through interpersonal patterning and see through our own bullshit.

And remember to be kind to yourself. Trauma creates these patterns and that’s not our fault even if at this point we are deluding ourselves to some extent. It takes time to decondition ourselves. We can watch with curiosity rather than judgement.

AND yes, I could use some compensation for the many 100s of hours I’ve worked with folks over the years. Working like we do and not getting any sort of compensation that I might live more comfortably in the face of continued challenges continues to teach us what we’ve learned from psychiatry. We must not be worth it. Let’s change that patterning. If I helped you or a loved one out, please help me back now. thank you.

****We could  use some financial support at the moment! You know, for things like the mortgage so that we can maintain a roof over our heads. Yup. I do this all for no other compensation than  what the readers want to offer in support. Thank you!****

  1. Hey Monica, This is very brave and a really helpful reminder right now. I thought I could master my trauma and am blessed and lucky to have some powerful healers on my team. Unfortunately, I am putting myself through processes that seem to be causing more pain and pushing me back into myself. Its very helpful to have your brave voice to remind me that it is okay to be a raving loony right now…

  2. Some interesting dialog here! I had no idea for my entire life (I’m 67 now) that a B12 deficiency creates a form of madness. That it’s as debilitating as multiple sclerosis and has a whole whack of deadly effects, until I watched a YouTube video just last night. My Doctor never told me. In fact, he played it down as nothing to be concerned about. It’s just messed up my whole life, that’s all…

    1. Yes there’s a reason my website is called everything matters these days. Because it just frankly does. We are the sum of all parts, all things, our environment…etc, etc And it plays out with endless diversity in a kaleidoscopic celebration of every living thing in the universe
