The guru is within…

The below sentiment is true about learning to live well in general whether you’re thinking of things in terms of spirituality or not. For example we would be much better served if we were told by mental health professionals from the very beginning to trust ourselves rather than anyone telling us what to do. Instead, the entire system is fraught with the infantilization of the client…this is (in general) true of both psychology and psychiatry as currently practiced. … [click on title for the rest of the post]

You are your own teacher, guru, healer

You are your own teacher. Looking for teachers can’t solve your own doubts. Investigate yourself to find the truth – inside, not outside. Knowing yourself is most important. … [click on title for the rest of the post]

Heavy metals

Heavy metals are just one really heinous environmental toxin that gets into the nervous system and exponentially potentiates “negative” emotions (as well as being painful in ways that go far beyond what most people can conceive of and is associated with all manner of chronic illness and other infections all across the population…which is why the medical establishment shrinks away from the reality and calls people crazy, etc). Nature within us and without speaks to us always

The perpetrating healer and integrating the ugly

If you want to beat yourself up when you “slip into old habits” go for it, but I suggest you learn to be kind to yourself instead. When you find that you can do that go for deeply mindful instead of beating yourself up…see what the parts of you that wanted that food or drug […]

Spring is upon us. A little celebration of the details.

Like splinters in one’s soul – other people’s beliefs, feelings, emotions and trauma…Healing is the cleansing off all of the collective scum to pure awareness without conditioning. Wash off the samsara….drop the stories… let go of the interpretations …

almost a year since almost dying. what is up?

I’m approaching the one year anniversary date of the second brain injury that almost killed me. I entered the ICU on December 25th of last year. I was unconscious for several days and then when I woke up I had lost virtually all my memory. Conveniently and fortunately I remembered Paul, my partner, but so confused, I also thought he was one of the MDs in the hospital. So, yeah, it’s been a long haul to where I am now. …
