Your body tells you when you’ve moved out of harmony…you need only start listening. There is no hurry, however. Take your time. Learn to pause and listen. Find your own natural rhythm. Slow down, breathe, listen, tune yourself back into gaia’s heart.
Listening to music and moving to it (or not, sometimes I simply meditate) have become and will remain a foundational aspect of becoming well for me. I listen to many different sounds, do yoga, I walk, I dance, and I mindfully am present with the movements of my body when I do just about everything. Even when I do the dishes or any other household chores. Becoming conscious of our incredibly lovely animal bodies can be a deep and profound joy. … [click on title for the rest of the post]
Generally when we start tapering, we all start with the expectation that we can hold our taper and our bodies to a calendar schedule.
Unfortunately, bodies were invented long before calendars, and healing doesn’t follow a numerical schedule. (Just try telling a broken bone that it has to heal exactly 10% every two weeks.)
And what I see is that the people who do best with their tapers are the ones who listen to and follow their bodies’ internal wisdom, rather than some external notion of a “correct taper” or some schedule given to them by someone outside. [click on title to read more]
***Get to know the animal within…she’s the Goddess too. There is no separation…we are animal…we are divine in that we have the capacity to experience the oneness with all and that goes well beyond the body…it’s important to not leave out half of the equation…to be grounded, knowing and healing the body is an imperative… […]
Trauma that is held in the body over time freezes…the healing process requires defrosting…it can be painful…physically and emotionally. Their is no separation between body and mind. The body is mind, the mind is body. So what is done to the body is done to the mind and what is done to the mind is done to the body. It’s a vibrant, synergistic relationship of oneness.
Let us please open our eyes and help one another to see. Right now those in public and sanctioned positions to help us are actually harming us unintentionally. We must bring this to a stop. We must help one another. There is no motivation to heal without drugs if there are no safe places to do it. Right now it’s not safe for most people most of the time. This alone will keep people from even attempting to do it or even realize or acknowledge it’s possible. It’s scary and the fear is justified and even rational given what we face. I am in a rare and privileged and lucky position and I still get frightened too. This is scary stuff. …
What happened to my brain and nervous system as a result of long-time psych drug use was that it’s capacity to feel shrunk –literally. I’m now growing new capacities…encouraging new neuropathways and pruning less than ideal ones. I can feel this happening. Really. Anyone can do this given the right circumstances…support and resources are needed. This is why I do the work I do. We are hurting people with neurotoxic drugs that impede growth and healing. At best all they do is suppress and control. …
We are, in large part, and among many other things, an expression of the ecosystem of our bodies which include bacteria, virus, fungi and other parasites. Successful “detoxification” is really largely about bringing these microorganisms and the rest of our being into balance since most of them cannot be gotten rid of entirely in any case. In many instances we don’t want to get rid of them as in the right amount they serve a good function. We are all made up of these things in different ratios by design, really.
Our bodies are incredibly knowing animals that we’ve systematically learned to ignore, shut down and ultimately poison. Healing is about letting the wisdom of the body re-emerge. … and
