I experience my life now as far better than ever before…

I am alive. This I know and appreciate in ways I simply couldn't at any other time of my life. *** A couple of musings to share: no more walls in my detox, but congestion still occurs as cellular debris marking every traumatic moment in my life moves on out... Detox…the nitty gritty Somatic mysticism:... Continue Reading →

How to access the information on this site

Autoimmune issues, transformation and holistic wellbeing

*for me a good part of protracted withdrawal issues from psych drugs has been extreme exacerbation of auto-immune issues which seems to be very common among those of us impacted. Often the auto-immune issues go unrecognized as they do with the mainstream population as well.

Detox…the nitty gritty

The aftermath: polypharmacology — protracted psychiatric drug withdrawal syndrome

This was first published on David Healy's site, RxIsk: Making Medicine's Safer for All of Us, about 4 years ago. I've never published it on this site and thought I'd do so now so that it will be part of the archives here as well. It's a memoir of sorts up to that point 4 years ago.

Mental wellness: empowering ways to consider our difficult experiences

Part of coming to understand our profound capacities to heal and transform is to first know that it's possible. I know 1000s of folks who've been able to discover this now. I have met them in mental health circles and chronic illness circles both. I've also met them among people who've never suffered in these ways but were lucky enough to be born into situations where they simply learned how to do it right from the beginning. Imagine that. We can create a world where we teach children how to profoundly take care of themselves and others. ...

Addiction

For me addiction is about having trouble letting go of ANYTHING that has ever been helpful. That includes people, food, experiences, substances of all kinds etc. I have no conventionally understood addictions right now, but I am deeply resonant with the concept of addiction. Our consumer oriented culture teaches us to cling to everything. Healing for me is learning to stop clinging. Completely. ...
