How do you exercise when you’re in pain?
Baby steps…I started with an exercycle on which I peddled for 15 seconds until I could peddle 30 seconds. (I got it for free on free cycle). Walking to the mailbox was an exciting workout for quite a while. Yoga has been wonderful…sometimes still I only do 5 or 10 minutes at a time…it continues to unfold….I did a lot of other things in baby step ways. Never pushing beyond what felt safe and comfortable.
No, I was not #MedicatedAndMighty but I sure as heck was medicated
In a nutshell the updates: The point is not to compete but to make clear that all our voices matter whether we find ourselves using psych drugs or not. Being pragmatic and recognizing that the context of every life is unique is the most important thing. Diversity is real. So I let go of my ideas of who she was and who she should be, and became very present to her every breath as though I were looking at her for the first time. And what I realized was that in her acceptance and transition she was teaching me all about grace. … [click on title for the rest of the post]

Has the rug been pulled out? (again)
I am in a bit of a flare in my healing process. My nervous system got challenged beyond what it was ready for when I attempted Bikram yoga. No, not all yoga is alike, and Bikram, I discovered is the military boot camp style of yogas, oh my. That is another story, but take it as… Continue Reading →
