Yoga: changing the brain’s stressful habits

Yoga can supposedly improve depressive symptoms and immune function, as well as decrease chronic pain, reduce stress, and lower blood pressure. These claims have all been made by yogis over the years, and it sounds like a lot of new age foolishness. Surprisingly, however, everything in that list is supported by scientific research.

My long-term chronic illness actually taught me that meditation can be done from any posture and that, in fact, one's life can be a meditation. I love Shavasana or (Savasana, as I spelled it in my posts) and because I've been so ill I certainly used it to meditate when I could not sit upright for two years. I've put two photos on here from the position as well because I love it and do it daily. In the spring and summer I do it outside.

Laughter yoga: healthy (and fun) thing to add to your tool box

They say laughter is the best medicine and I believe it. I have often noticed that laughter truly takes me away and alters my consciousness for the better. I also purposely watch a as many comedies, both sit coms and movies, for exactly this reason. I try to laugh as often as possible.
