This is it. This is your life. There is no do-over. This is it.

everyone is getting younger and younger and I don't feel like I'm aging. Only the body ages...awareness is ageless and timeless. *** Life force flows through my body bringing me to Healing so that I might come to perfect flow. Flow is thriving good health. The chronically ill body healing is a vehicle into the light. ...

short and sweet: 6 brutal truths (parts)

Once we’re adults we cannot expect another adult to fix the infantile parts of ourselves that were never appropriately nurtured by our parents. Healing is about becoming conscious of those parts and then learning to reparent those parts for ourselves. No one else will ever know what all the little hurt children within us need.... Oliver Sacks helps me explain hypersensitivity

Humans can discriminate between similar odors and detect many substances, sometimes more than rodents and dogs. -- The Myth That Humans Have Poor Smell Is Nonscents - The Atlantic -- We can also know which herbs will heal us and when it's appropriate to take them (a delightful thing I've learned as an amateur herbalist as I heal my brain) we are insanely out of touch with our animal selves. We have instinct and intuition like all animals...we can relearn and remember these skills...

The brain (body/mind) that heals itself

What happened to my brain and nervous system as a result of long-time psych drug use was that it's capacity to feel shrunk --literally. I'm now growing new capacities...encouraging new neuropathways and pruning less than ideal ones. I can feel this happening. Really. Anyone can do this given the right circumstances...support and resources are needed. This is why I do the work I do. We are hurting people with neurotoxic drugs that impede growth and healing. At best all they do is suppress and control. ...

This is true-nature: whole, present, interconnected: every human is the experience of true nature all the time

By Jen Peer Rich -- True-nature is overdue for normalization. Self-awareness and living a conscious life is often reserved for gurus, teachers and "spiritually enlightened" folks. In our Western culture, it is the norm to put people who wake up to true-nature on a kind of a psychological and spiritual pedestal. This approach is flawed because it maintains an illusory hierarchy of consciousness, an exclusively human mind-trick. We tend to make simple things mysterious. This is exactly what keeps true-nature such a carrot-stick mystery for many.

Will these symptoms ever go away? (chronic illness and protracted psych drug withdrawal syndrome)

A question asked: (Withdrawing from psychiatric drugs) caused chronic fatigue, muscle pain, burning skin and brain fog. I NEVER had any of these symptoms prior to meds or during meds. I guess the thing I worry about is if your body can truly heal from these symptoms. Can they go away on their own? Can they go away with time? my answer: We need to learn to listen to and cooperate with our nervous systems...and heal...in the way that they dictate. This will be different for everyone and therein lies the challenge. ...

State of mental health care #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

It's important to consider what the right kind of care for those with mental health issues is because the fact is much of what is considered state of art now makes many people worse. Blanket calls for more available care isn't enough if we don't also think about what better care looks like. Pushing for making mental health treatment more accessible is not helpful if the available treatment is just plain bad as it is for the most part now. … [click on title to read and view more]

State of mental health care

Some musings to entertain... It's important to consider what the right kind of care for those with mental health issues is because the fact is much of what is considered state of art now makes many people worse. Blanket calls for more available care isn't enough if we don't also think about what better care... Continue Reading →

Encouraging people to make healthy life supporting choices is not the same as blaming them for illness

Yesterday I found myself on a website that claimed to offer inspiration about healing from a variety of illnesses. The post I read said that people earned their health. If you are ill you earned it and if you are healthy you earned it too said this website....
