Today in the United States, by the simple acts of feeding ourselves, we are unwittingly participating in the largest experiment ever conducted on human beings. Each of us unknowingly consumes genetically engineered food on a daily basis. The risks and effects to our health and the environment are largely unknown. Yet more and more studies are being conducted around the world, which only provide even more reason for concern. Proposition 37 (the legislation to label GMOS that was up to vote on in California) lost. It lost because agribusiness poured millions and millions of dollars into defeating it. Many of the companies that paid to defeat it are in the organic business. I suggest avoiding giving them our business. (businesses listed)
As I've talked about in many posts our food supply is toxic. This is a good film that really goes into the basic problems of our food supply today. Our physical and mental well-being both are intricately tied with the food we put in our bodies.
Just label it!
Genetic engineering is a threat to food security, especially in a changing climate.
