thank you to Lee Hodges, Store Manager at Lowe's Home Improvement -- from Linked In. I was so pleased to see someone who isn't clearly in the world of mental health speaking up for folks. Lee Hodges said: I've seen a lot of nasty posts in regards to people making "non-essential" trips .. Do you... Continue Reading →
Getting to know herbs (spotlight CBD)
These are relationships. You get to know the plant and how you interact with it. There are times when it's appropriate and there are times when it is not and this is true for just about everything. Those of us with these injuries know something about the trickster in just about any food or substance. We have a lot of sensitivities. I find that most herbs have a sort of polarity in which they may be just what you need today but not tomorrow. And they really do act differently in the body depending on what is going on. All herbs do this in one way or another. Some are much more noticeable than others. ...
The hungry ghosts know. Listen.
Somatic mysticism, diet and returning to my ancestry.... I like using “somatic mysticism” to explain my experience because I feel everything deeply in my body. I can feel my cells doing their work quite often and I feel all manner of metabolic movement and I feel far more than I can even begin to really... Continue Reading →
Pandemic blues. Can’t wait to get back to “normal.” Really?
Back to normal? This is the world I know....thank god others are waking up to the destruction humanity has wrought. The air is clean, the animals are returning to places they've not been for decades. I've been in isolation for over a decade with no appropriate medical care. This is my third pandemic as well. The AIDS pandemic...I worked at the beginning when young men were dying like flies. And the pandemic of murder by psychiatric meds. Going on everyday and denied by most. This is my life in isolation. I haven't been pretending the world isn't falling apart. Maybe others will join us now...those of us who are paying attention. Let it be.
darkness, light, marriage of opposites
Let your body guide you out of the darkness. The body is our only way into the light which holds the darkness so that we can be part of healing the whole world...trust the light so that we can trust the darkness...the willingness to embrace the whole shebang is the domain of the animal... In... Continue Reading →
Julian of Norwich – ecstatic mystic and radical lover
I find that all emotion is ecstatic - we need not judge one over the other or say one is negative/positive. When felt in the natural state ecstatic expression happens with all emotions. It's a sort of orgasmic living and it puts sexual intercourse in perspective as nothing particularly special. Life is ecstatic when we surrender entirely.
Critical contemplations and observations for the pandemic and beyond
( these brief comments are regarding the above image) let us all shoot for action and be patient with ourselves and others while we more frequently inhabit the other layers...compassion for ourselves and others both is more important now than ever.... *** See this article: the below comments are response to it: Corona virus and... Pasta e fagioli. Italian comfort revisioned for spring.
the food blog…this is my work…I haven’t posted in a long time but did today. Yum.
Inspired by the Italian comfort food, pasta e fagioli, I have made an orzo pasta with black beans – a warm salad with radicchio and flowers from the front lawn. Wild violets and dandelions flowers. Finished with a drizzle of olive oil. Pure simplicity and deliciousness.
That’s the entire recipe too. Just toss them together in the ratios you prefer. Go!

Tardive dyskinesia – a sign of iatrogenic injury from neuroleptics
I have tardive dyskinesia. I've not written about it. I can't find a single reference online about it that doesn't pathologize it..and DRUG it further. This is a very brief definition taken from WebMD (and to be clear they do not know what it is)...but the description is fair enough. Tardive dyskinesia is a side... Continue Reading →
