Yoga, As Needed

I’ve been able to walk a couple of times in the last week. So grateful for when I can do that. I’ve had a rough winter and early spring, which has become a normal seasonal pattern with this healing process.

The video shows me doing yoga as needed: Cobra on a park bench and then I did a little cat cow too. I incorporate my yoga into every moment of daily life so that there is no separation as I slowly rehab over and over again.

I have generally very good mobility as a result of doing this in spite of repeatedly having long periods of being bed bound. When I say I should be dead I’m not kidding. What I’m up against is phenomenal but what my body comes up with in surrender is also amazing. I am still here

Movement keeps my body going as I continue to find what healing looks like in this body.

Walking and yoga: video short ~~ This video was made a few years ago. it shows how I incorporate yoga into every moment of my life. sometimes it’s subtle and sometimes not. Yoga and movement can morph from distinctly hatha yoga flows. They might become more like Qigong. Later, they can even move into ecstatic dance. I use walls and furniture and door frames and trees and anything around me as props for modifications as necessary. I have not been fit nor do I look like a conventional yogi. My body is my only teacher now. Yoga seems to be in my DNA. It is, in my mind, a science of the body.
