Nature within us and without speaks to us always

That has been my experience. I've had to toss out everything I've been told and learn from the inside out of this body that nature gave me. Dismantle the conditioned self and come into our being with nature. Yes, Mother Nature, in the end, has been my only reliable teacher, parent, Guru, doctor, and friend. She is everywhere, always. We need only pay attention. She is always speaking to us., we need only learn to take heed. ...

Language of mental illness “others” people: it’s a human rights violation. Wake up.

When separation and microaggressions are legitimized and put into public policy and discourse, we become second class citizens and subhumans. This is oppression and bigotry systemically supported and then denied by almost everyone, including those most seriously affected. We come to believe these lies. ...

Psychiatric labels don’t make sense anymore

We are kaleidoscopic beings -- endlessly variant. Social, political, psychological, ecological, cultural, biological all having impact. When we don't engage our kaleidoscopic reality in a very active way - thinking we understand anything at all is ridiculous. Everything Matters -- it's the meme I use as a title for my work because it encapsulates our essence..

About that which animates all of life…

Seems my thoughts as they've pertained to my healing process have been essentially planted by life-force so that I would achieve through my responses to my somatic experience, what was needed in order to heal the whacked out nervous system, gut, and immune systems etc. Never has it mattered if anything was clinically true or not...what mattered was that the narrative made sense to my ego so that I would follow directions and ultimately heal. ...

Remineralization…a good thing to do in preparation for drug withdrawal (as well as for general well-being)

Minerals are essential for all of our bodily functions. They are needed for bone and teeth health for our blood, skin, hair, nerve function, muscle and for all our metabolic processes. They are foundational to everything we are as physical beings. All minerals are generally in a state of depletion in modern western people because our soils suck and our food supply is so compromised in a multitude of ways. Before withdrawing from psych meds it's important to have some foundational well-being if at all possible so that one might mitigate severe withdrawal issues.

The individual, family and society: Who and what exactly is mentally ill?

Parents who feel comfortable calling their children mentally ill while refusing to take a look at family dynamics are problematic and complicate the healing process for those labeled ill. We need to know that we are part of a web of life and our situation has not happened in a vacuum. We are not defective.... Continue Reading →

The nervous system speaks, TV as transformative process, and foam rollers for trauma release

Musings from the process of the last few days with some links to more related information. There is a small split left as the nervous system responds to promptings to be healed. There is the ego following those directions and there is life force. The ego is cooperating completely in every moment without any moments... Continue Reading →

Asheville Community Yoga: my partners in healing

I'm sharing info about this yoga studio for multiple reasons really. I'm happy and honored to raise their profile on the internet so as to help support them. They are truly in service to the community and so I too want to give back. Also, it would be lovely to see such studios opening up all over the country and the world. I hope that this post might plant seeds so that this sort of vision can be replicated elsewhere. So many yoga studios don't seem to have the true spirit of yoga. Yoga has become a part of popular and hip culture, so that in some circles the yoga as lifestyle and philosophy gets lost. We need more yoga studios that are, as this one is, deeply in service to the community. Number two is that the folks in the video talking about how yoga and the community there at Asheville Community Yoga are real people talking about their real experiences. I, too, have found that being part of that particular community and practicing yoga regularly, both, has radically helped support my healing process. Three, I want to again, talk about how yoga has helped me in my life, in general. It literally raised me from my bed, where I had been bedridden for 2 years. My muscles were completely atrophied. I started with leg and arm lifts and turning my feet and hands in circles. Serious baby steps. And now I can do all sorts of stuff. … [click on title to read and view more]

Fresh turmeric and fresh ginger (roots for your health) – anti-inflammatory #foodie friday

I use fresh ginger all the time in many foods. Fresh turmeric, on the other had I just found recently at the local Asian market. I've had to stop taking most of my supplements since I discovered the histamine issue. Supplements seem to bother and raise my histamine levels. Not sure if it's the fillers... Continue Reading →

To me, a true cure is complete, is human, and has dignity. And it never ends.

And this is exactly what is happening: We are creating a cure by uniting the contributions of surgeons, homeopaths, oncologists, Chinese doctors, nutritionists and spiritual healers. The active participation of everyone involved -- both experts and ex-patients -- is naturally filtering out any damaging suggestion which might be proposed.
