The stream of life

streamStream of Life

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures. It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

by Rabindranath Tagore

When I was preparing this post I discovered that the song that plays behind the original “Where the hell is Matt” video, is this Tagore poem. I hadn’t known that when I saw the video several years ago.

So I’m posting it again because I loved it then and if anyone missed it, they can see it for the first time now. It went crazy viral for a very very long time.

This guy went around the world and danced with whoever agreed to dance with him. It’s really quite beautiful and it’s nice to now also know that the lyrics of the song are this lovely poem by Tagore.

Oh my, I just now watched it again and it still makes me cry. We’re talking weeping…yeah, tears running down my face. Every time.  Enjoy.
