Withdrawal anniversary: 16 years

The last time I did an anniversary post was 8 years ago. It’s my birthday too. I was born on this day. So it’s been my anniversary and my birthday for 16 years.

I’m drug injured and seriously so.

I’ve never regretted coming off psych drugs.

They’re undeniably toxic and soul killing when taken for far too many years.

I was what might have been called a career psych patient. Not in terms of what I looked like from the outside, but in terms of how long I was on the massive cocktail I got put on (by force while still a teenager). That cocktail took it’s toll.

We didn’t have much information about what happened for people coming off of massive cocktails after 20 years. Some people definitely do okay all around and regain wellbeing on all manner of measures. Most people who come off drugs haven’t been on as long as I was, nor were they on as many. That too is true.

I developed tardive dyskinesia.

And that, it’s become clear to me is both a drug injury and an infection. In my case the infection is also associated with what gets called LYME DISEASE. It’s also true that autoimmune disease, CFS, MS and other illnesses of that sort are all linked.

I found this out by frequenting hundreds of health forums over the years. The amount of cross over in symptoms etc makes it become clear.

These are not all unique diseases but the huge diversity of manifestation of common illness brought about by over use of pharmaceuticals, a world full of environmental toxins and a food supply loaded with chemicals.

Lyme disease and the politics surrounding it are about as accurate a science as psychiatry. Long term chronic lyme is really multiple systemic infections and it seems that most chronic illness has a microbiome link. This is all stuff that western medicine continues to want to refuse to look at because, in general, across the board (not just psychiatry) western medicine makes these issues worse, not better.

So I continue my work and studies around these issues. I write from time to time and have accumulated collection on both systemic infections and tardive dyskinesia. I await the day that more people begin to understand the implications.

I do hope to continue what I’ve come to understand about what long term ingestion of pharmaceuticals does to the body. I continue to have keen somatic awareness and I learn more than I know how to share at this point.

Be well. Thanks for reading.
