The difficulites involved in paradigm shifts or any new thinking in general

I found this delightful article by Siegfreid Othmer in a neurofeedback newsletter. I’ve written about neurofeedback and it’s success in my treatment. This article however speaks to all I write about–it goes way beyond the issue of neurofeedback and has implications for all of science and medicine and hence psychiatry as well. My last post segues nicely into this one. Contrary beliefs, even when well founded, are routinely dismissed. Neurofeedback is no exception and the author gives numerous examples of controversial thinking throughout history being initially dismissed, only later to be found true. A thought-provoking read.
