For those of you who are not aware, my comment subscription service that comes with WordPress IS NOT working. Be sure to check back for follow up comments to your own. You will recieve follow up comments from me, but not from any of my readers. WordPress support is supposed to be on this for me but it’s taking a while. The woman who has been helping me reports she has never seen this particular bug which doesn’t make me feel so good. She has taken it to her supervisors.
On a very different note I thought I’d post the cream soup I just made. I’m having a hard time eating and I’ve started making cream soups as they go down easier when my stomach is queasy and they can be very nutritious. Today I made a cream of mushroom soup. I make all these things fast and furiously as I can only stand about 5 minutes before breaking out into a sweat and feeling like I’m going to pass out. I don’t know what the heck it is and it’s very disturbing. I refuse to NOT get up at all though. I’m terrified of losing even more functionality.
So the soup.
- Chopped up 2 lbs of organic mushroom
- Chopped up 2 very large onions
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- Threw them all together in a pot with a bit of butter. Covered them and let them simmer for about 1/2 an hour while I regained my strength.
- Poured one box of organic veggie soup stock and about 4 cups of organic milk into the mushroom, onions and garlic. Took off the heat immediately.
- Cooked up 1 lb ground organic turkey thigh
- Grated one 8 oz pack of yogurt cultured cheese with herbs and garlic
- added salt and a bunch of pepper
- mixed turkey and cheese, salt and pepper up into a goopy yumminess.
- Dumped it all into the mushroom with milk and veggie stock.
Took another break.
- Came back and pureed the whole shebang.
- Had a cup of very delicious soup.
- Will add some brown rice later for variety.
- Froze a few containers and have enough for today and tomorrow in the fridge.
Skip the turkey, of course, to make it vegetarian. I threw in the turkey because I really need lots of protein these days.
I’m cooking this over the weekend. Yum.

I’m having a problem with nausea as well and my niece made me a delicious cream of chicken soup. When she told me about it, it did not sound appealing, The idea of “creamy” made my stomach wince. HOwever, it turned out to be very soothing.

I only have about half a cup at a time. Several times a day…I can’t have a lot of this either…
