Thanksgiving was always my favorite holiday. Actually the only holiday I cared about at all. Certainly not because of history. The whole first thanksgiving story is rife with trauma, abuse and murder. I liked thanksgiving just because of what giving thanks means.
These days I don’t do holidays. I’m not able to spend time with family or friends. I make every day be thanksgiving as much as I’m able. That is perhaps how everyone should live. Losing so much of what most people take for granted really changes how one views things. Holidays don’t mean much of anything anymore.
I’ve posted from Gratefulness.org before, Brother David Steindl-Rast’s website and community. I will share this lovely video again today. A video that celebrates thanks for everyday.
Brother David Steindl-Rast narrates this. Beautiful!!
