Ecstatic dance as practice: there is a dance that only you know how to do

There is a dance that only you know how to do, Gabrielle says. The Wave makes it fun to experience the ecstasy of your body in motion to some of the most irresistible high-energy dance music we’ve ever heard!

gabe5Rhythms is a movement meditation practice devised by Gabrielle Roth in the late 1970s. It draws from indigenous and world traditions using tenets of shamanistic, ecstatic, mystical and eastern philosophy. It also draws from Gestalt therapy, the human potential movement and transpersonal psychology. Fundamental to the practice is the idea that everything is energy, and moves in waves, patterns and rhythms. (more)

I actually bought Endless Wave, Volume One and it’s a wonderfully powerful moving meditation. Seriously just what I needed. Ecstasy is not overstating the wonder of listening to and moving your body in this attentive and meditative way. I was into Gabrielle Roth many years ago, but only just now rediscovered the power of what she taught.

Endless Wave has voice over…like a guided meditation through the dance movements…so WONDERFUL! Then, later, you can just do your own thing in general, really to any music that calls you.
