She is quoted in this article saying this:
You can think of spiritual practice as a kind of spiritual re-parenting … You’re offering yourself the two qualities that make up good parenting: understanding — seeing yourself for who you truly are — and relating to what you see with unconditional love. (read the whole article)
Such is the path to healing via meditation and diet and exercise etc. The spiritual path is a system of learning to live well so that we might also be healthy in mind, body and soul. There are many different paths. As many as there are people, really.
