I met a woman who took Cymbalta for fibromyalgia. Never had been depressed in her life. Cymbalta is also an SNRI like Effexor and both drugs are known for nasty withdrawals. This woman had a horrible, horrible withdrawal complete with mood swings and suicidal depression.
So this news is anything but cheery for those suffering from fibromyalgia who will undboubtedly not be told about the inevitable risk of withdrawal from Milnacipran just like the woman I met was not told about the risk with Cymbalta:
Forest Laboratories and Cypress Bioscience announced January 14 that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved milnacipran (Savella), a dual serotonin- and norepinephrine-reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), for the management of fibromyalgia. (read the rest here)
