Layers of delusion and dissociation have been directly correlated with bad bacteria and other issues with biofilm matrixes in the body. As I have cleansed (detoxed) I’ve healed long-standing autoimmune disease as well as brain injury imparted from psych drugs. “Mental health issues” associated with trauma also cleared up as the layers of dissociation disappeared with the biofilm matrixes. Word “disappeared” while true, belies the real work involved in letting go. This has both an emotional/spiritual process and a physical one. Both have been critically important processes in the healing process. We are truly one. There is no separation between the physical and the emotional. No separation between body and mind. And everything matters because everything is interconnected.
This healing process has largely been a process of returning to the body. An embodiment process.
Update 2026: In 2020 I finally tested positive for multiple systemic infections (AKA chronic Lyme). This is what was making full physical functioning slow to return. Lyme disease / systemic infections. I’ve come to see how the microbiome is intimately involved in all human disease and wellness as a result of this window onto reality.

Sometimes healing a brain injury really hurts very badly… *acutely* in fact … I sometimes think of people healing from severe burns at those times…
I imagine it sounds hard to conceive but I can feel neurons growing…my brain’s higher functioning was shut down with potent drugs for two and a half decades.
As I develop the ability to let the body lead the way I simply watch it feed itself with many building blocks to regenerate, transform, heal, grow.
Sensitivity might just be considered altered interoception so that we might have the information to heal.
The brain injury in this case includes what gets labeled Tardive Dyskinesia in psychiatry. They have no clue what they’re looking at really. It’s brain injury nad infection in my case and I don’t doubt that it’s similar for many others.

Contrary to what people often imagine surrender, acceptance and lack of resistance is not the same as inaction. In fact surrendering can instead lead to clear, decisive and inspired action that would otherwise not be possible.

Below is a photo of the amazing wall of herbs in my local food co-op that allows me to very easily experiment with new herbs…they carry an incredibly large assortment of some of the finest herbs in the world. I do often buy online once I know what I need, but here I can buy small quantities to experiment with first. It’s a godsend and blessing that I have this place here nearby. I do sometimes have to buy larger quantities via online with stuff they don’t have…still The French Broad Coop saves me hundreds of dollars…easily…there are many things I always get here as well. I LOVE THEM.
It’s made my self-healing trip doable in ways that wouldn’t have been without them. I’ve often said it takes a village to heal…and it takes a village of herbs as well. A large community of wondrous plant spirits and all the biological constituents thereof. See more on HERBS here.

*it is potentially dangerous to come off medications without careful planning. See: Psychiatric drug withdrawal and protracted withdrawal syndrome round-up
It’s become clear to me that whenever it’s possible that it’s helpful for folks who’ve not begun withdrawal and have the time to consider a carefully thought out plan to attempt to bring greater well-being to your body before starting the withdrawal. That means learning how to profoundly nourish your body/mind and spirit prior to beginning a withdrawal.
For suggestions on how to go about doing that check the drop-down menus on this blog for ideas. Anything that helps you learn how to live well can be part of your plan. That plan will look different for everyone as we learn to follow our hearts and find our own unique paths in the world. Things to begin considering are diet, exercise and movement, meditation/contemplation etc. Paying attention to all these things as you do them helps too. The body will start letting us know what it needs as we learn to pay attention.
